ABOUT STREETSIDE

Urban Youth Project

Our Flagship service is aimed at young people aged between 11 and 16. We provide a safe environment for learning skills in music, media & the arts.

Social and environmental responsibility are always at the heart of the project. Parkside High have been commissioned to deliver workshops across Erewash, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

We are on target to complete the program in early 2018 and so far have had more than 100 attendees. Our sessions are also open to referrals from Children’s Services, Schools and other Agencies.

Young people can attend StreetSide to learn new skills in DJing, music production, lyricism, live performance and visual arts with trained professionals in a safe and friendly environment.

Our workshops are designed to help young people develop their confidence, raise self-esteem and learn how to work creatively as an individual and together in a team. We aim to help build and develop important life skills which are transferable into a variety of different environments.

In addition, we also work with other organisations to monitor and evaluate the participants progress to enable them to achieve the best results from their learning experience.

Our workshops are aimed at 11-16-year olds in the community. Schools, groups, youth clubs and individuals can all access our services.

StreetSide are based in Ilkeston and offer our services right across the Erewash Valley, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Workshop Plan

The standard Streetside workshop lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and varies from week to week. We would normally cater upto 15 young people. The chance to learn skills in DJing, music production techniques, drumming and other traditional music tuition and the chance to create visual art including painting, drawing and creating street art.

We can work together with your organisation to create a tailored workshop experience for groups of young people in your chosen environment.

Monitoring & Evaluation

At StreetSide we have a monitoring and evaluation process in place which enables us to measure the progress of the individuals and groups or organisations who access our service. We aim to closely monitor the progress of young people with the aim of boosting their potential for future opportunities on their chosen path through life.

StreetSide also offer other activities based around physical exercise, competitive sport and outdoor pursuits. Please contact us for more information.
